DINETZ has restaurant and kitchen equipment answers.
We get lots of questions. And sometimes we get the same questions A LOT!
Here are the FAQs:
- How do I contact you?
- Where are you located?
- Are you open to the general public?
- Are you open on weekends?
- Can I put a commercial range in my house?
- I want to open a restaurant. How much will it cost?
- How do I place an order?
- Why can't I place an order on your web site?
- Is there a minimum on orders?
- Can I get it delivered?
- How do I contact you?
- Our telephone number IS STILL 416 368 8657 fax: 416 368 3627
- And you can always e-mail us: sales@dinetz.ca
- Where are you located?
- After 56 years, DINETZ HAS MOVED. Our new address is:
844 CALEDONIA ROAD Toronto, Ontario M6B 3Y1 - Here's a MAP LINK. Come on over!
- Are you open to the public?
- If the general public has money to spend, we're here - 8:30 to 5:00, Monday through Friday.
- Are you open weekends?
- 8:30 to 5:00, Monday through Friday.
- Can I put a commercial range in my house?
- You can, although your insurance company will cancel your homeowner's policy when they find out. But if you're still up for it here are a few things to bear in mind about owning a commercial range:
- You'll have to build a fire barrier between the range and the counter, unless they are separated by at least 6 inches of clearance.
- There is no place to simmer a small pot on a commercial range (but you'll have no trouble making 200 bowls of soup at once).
- And finally, manufacturers will not warranty a commercial range that has been installed in a home.
- You're not completely out of luck however: Imperial makes a commercial-type range for domestic use. We'll show it to you if you want.
- I want to open a restaurant. How much will it cost?
- This question was answered best by the late Sid Dinetz. His stock response: "I'm hungry - how much will it cost to feed me?" meant that we need more details to answer a question like this. But once we have them, we can actually give you a pretty accurate idea what it will take financially to build and equip a place.
- A good way to start is to let us know: the size of the location; how many people it seats; what type of food you'll feature; what type of equipment you think you'll need; and whether or not you already have architectural drawings or a design on paper.
- How do I place an order?
- We happily take orders by phone
- 416 368 8657
- and fax
- 416 368 3627
- and e-mail
- sales@dinetz.ca.
- You can also print out our ORDER FORM and fax it to us.
- If possible it's always best to order by item number. Make a list of the item numbers of the things you receive whenever a delivery from us comes in. Then you can simply order by number the next time - it helps us serve you faster. And it will really ensure that you receive the exact item you have in mind. (Item numbers prevent confusion. A "water glass" is anything you can put water in!)
- Why can't I place an order on your web site?
- Quite simply: We sell way too much stuff to put up here.
- And a lot of what we sell is either highly sophisticated or custom made - the kind of items you really wouldn't want to buy on line anyway. The best thing is to call or visit us.
- However, for re-orders of things like glassware, cookware, and so forth you can always fax us the item numbers as mentioned above.
- Is there a minimum on orders?
- No.
- Can I get it delivered?
- If your order is over $200 we can deliver it within the greater Toronto Area for a modest delivery charge (surrounding outskirts slightly higher). Larger items, such as refrigerators, ranges, etc., require a special delivery consultation. Trucking for those pieces is priced accordingly, by the job.
- Orders less than $200 can be picked up.
- Items of reasonable size that are traveling beyond the Toronto area can be shipped, with those charges added on.
